About

My name is Holly Nappi Collins and I live in Plymouth, MA. I am a freelance writer and the mother of two children who have autism.

I have been raising my two kids for over 14 years. My son, Nick, is 15 and was diagnosed with high functioning autism and PDD when he was 4.  My daughter, Meghan, is 14 and is profoundly autistic, and we recently had to make the heart-wrenching decision to place her in a residential school, for children with autism, because of her challenges.

I write about my experiences of raising my kids—then and now—with bits of humor sprinkled along the way, in hopes to offer others with help, support, and needed camaraderie …  Your comments are welcomed—and encouraged—because I want to get to know all about you, and your special needs kids, as you get to know all about me and mine.

I am not new to the blog world, my previous website, Fearless Females, was where I used to be … and If you would like to read my earlier posts, or my fun-filled first year of archives, feel free by clicking on the link:  Fearless Females

My hope for this site is to become a resource place for folks with typical, and special needs kids alike—all special needs!  And as I mentioned earlier, I have two children with autism—one with higher functioning autism, PDD and anxiety disorder, and one with lower functioning autism and is nonverbal.  So I welcome your thoughts, interests, and personal resources to share with others….

My blog post: My Two Faces of Autism  pretty much says a lot about me.
